Measurement of surface topography in nanometer scale-thickness measurement of thin films- surface roughness and form measurement.
This device measures materials surfaces with the white light interferometry technology. White light interferometer is consisted of a white light source, optical system and a CCD sensor.
Based on this method, the measurement range varies from 5 nanometers to few millimeters. Accuracy and precision depends on source light coherence, vertical stage accuracy, vibration of the table, specimen reflection and roughness and CCD sensor error. Considering abovementioned factors, Achievable accuracy is 5 nanometers.
